Our El Nido, Philippines Trip - Wonderful Paradise

Going to El Nido, Palawan, Philippines is possible via many ways. First, you can go direct flight from Manila to El Nido (pretty pricey), From Manila to Puerto Princesa and land transfer by van or bus (via San Jose Terminal). What my fiance and I chose? We went to Puerto Princesa first then ride a van for 6-7 hours. Your land lord can also arrange that for you.

For me, you need to book for at least a week in order to see the entire (or almost) El Nido paradise..

Posing in front of Puerto Princesa airport, we are so excited and enthusiastic to witness the beauty of the magnificent El Nido..

First night, we stayed at Manny's Guest House. See below for information..

#2, "B. Mendoza St." cor Cuito
Landline number is +63 48 7251938,
Smart +63 912 872 1294
Globe +63 917 612 3947
Email emmanuellucena@yahoo.com

Price starts from a minimum of P500.00. Of course, do not expect an air-conditioned room. Besides, it ain't necessary, since his house is located nearby sea..He also took care of our van to El Nido which costs P700/pax.

You can see in the picture that it's really a house converted to guest house. According to "Manong" (brother) Manny, the house was built in 1970's. Wow! I wasn't even born yet! =D
By the way, the house is complete, with all the cooking set, ref and everything. A polite request may do..

Our first and unplanned itinerary is the iconic and considered world heritage Subterranean River also known as the "Underground River". Riding in a kilometer-long (as in long and huge) jeepney, we're bound for Sabang - place where you can find the underground river. And it's a back-aching 3 hours, instead of 2 hours. Why? It literally stops every time there's passenger! Whew! This is for the reason that these jeepneys are just few in the area, and if you missed it, you're messed up!

(to be continued...)
